The dedicated ATI-LA faculty represents varied training backgrounds and extensive professional experience, offering an exceptionally rich, dynamic course.
The Alexander Training Institute of Los Angeles was incorporated in 1987 by Pamela Blanc, Lyn Charlsen Klein, Michael Frederick, Sydney Harris, Babette Markus, Frank Ottiwell, Jean-Louis Rodrigue, and Judith Stransky to collectively establish and manage an Alexander teacher training school in Southern California. Frances Marsden joined our Senior Faculty and Board of Directors in 2000 and Meg Jolley joined the Board of Directors in 2020. Frank Otiwell is deceased, Judith Stransky is retired, and Jean-Louis Rodrigue, while still very active as an AT teacher, Film director and Consultant, has retired from ATI-LA.
ATI-LA is licensed by the state of California’s Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education and meets all the requirements for professional training as stipulated by the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT), the largest professional organization of teachers of the Alexander Technique in the United States.
